Hey y’all!
If you’re like me, you are confined to your apartment or home at the moment. I’ve honestly been trying to make the most of it and take each day as it comes. With that being said, I am enjoying the sun pouring into my apartment giving me natural light realness haha.I’ve also been loving the many solo worship and dance parties.
On a serious note, with this time I get to set new intentions and habits for myself. This is awesome for my overall spiritual, mental and physical help. However, although I am an introvert, I am totally tired of being home. How are y’all holding up? In this blog post, I plan to tell you 5 Best Ways to Care for yourself during Covid-19.
1. Create a sacred space within your home for prayer & worship
You might not think that prayer and worship each day has much to do with your mental health, but it does! Mental health during this time is super important. We are not being made to stay home and confined to our apartments on a daily. There’s actual work that we must do to maintain our spiritual health daily which impacts our overall health. The bible commands us to pray and spend time with Him (Ephesians 6:18). Creating a separate space in my apartment has help time with the Lord even more precious and it helps me to use focus on Him.
2. Focus on One Thing at A Time
You might not think that prayer and worship each day has much to do with your mental health, but it does!
3. Find time for a Workout
As stated before, we are no longer commuting to work daily. We are not moving as much as we are used to so we must find time to work out for our physical health. I love all kinds of fitness, but my favorite is dance fitness. This week I was able to take about three PopSugar fitness classes. My favorite (surprisingly), was this 30-Minute No-Equipment Arms and Abs video. Girl, it kicked my behind! I recommend it. Please take care of yourself physically. You’ll feel a thousand times better!
4. Give Yourself Grace
IIn this season of my life, there are a lot of moving parts. I’ll be moving soon, I plan to get married and I’ll be a wife in the next two months. Sometimes I don’t feel like creating. I just feel super overwhelmed with life and end up doing nothing. I have to remind myself that it’s okay and to let go of this “superwomen complex”. I don’t have to be doing it all at all times. Show yourself grace! This is not normal, we are trying our best during a pandemic beloved.
5.Set small weekly goals
My last tip was a perfect segue into this point! Make a weekly goal chart for yourself with things you would like to accomplish. For me, I like to prioritize my spiritual, mental, and physical health. I also like to prioritize pleasure and relationships. Without overwhelming myself, it’s good to create a realistic list to make sure you are prioritizing your needs. It has helped tremendously during this time.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and found it helpful!
Until next time y’all <3
