As I sat at my desk listening to a sermon, I heard one of the best analogies in regards to a believers life/walk. I paraphrase, Some Christians look at their salvation as if they are going to a concert. You’re there and you receive a stamp and you’re in. You’ve made it! You are basically there to watch and not take part in the actual show. Little do we know as Christians, in all actuality we’re apart of the show. We serve a huge part!
Being a Christian, I believe it all starts with understanding, to believing, then experiencing. This is what makes up our “walk” with God. Personally, I grew up in and out of a baptist church with very little understanding of what Christianity actually was. As I explained back in 2015, when I became a Christian the first step was to understand what it meant. Out of nowhere (…well of course because of God LOL), I had the desire to seek Him. I asked my younger sister to come with me to church and we went. One time turned into two times, then many more. Little by little, by hearing Gods word I started to believe. After all the bible does say, in Romans 10:17 “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
The more and more I heard the word of God, my belief gave birth to action. I was spending time with Him and had the desire to start sharing The Gospel on my YouTube channel. As my faith built, I started experiencing God and He became so real. He started to speak to me, spoke through people when I was acting crazy in these streets (lol) and I started to feel his presence. These experiences with God took my faith to another level. My trust in Him was building and my faith increased. In every personal experience, I saw how glorious He was. That is the purpose of each and every experience with God.
Take a look at my latest YouTube video as we look at a biblical example of this process -John 11. This story of the death of Lazarus and Jesus causing him to rise from the dead was exactly this- Understanding, to Believing and Experiencing all for His Glory. Take a look!
“When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”- John 11:4
