Earlier this week on my Instagram story I said “my life is a series of deadlines”.
Whether that’s for my day job as a teacher or my passion products, deadlines are crucial. Discipline is key. Although I’m still working on my balance, it still comes down to just that. Once you develop a habit of discipline, you truly put in the work when you don’t feel like it. Here’s some tips that help keep me disciplines to pursue my passions outside my day job!
Set Time Aside!
After a long day of teaching, usually I set aside time to work on my outside passions. That can be researching future products coming out, looking at different bloggers, content creating, etc. Set aside time even if its for 30 minutes! That helps you to stay inspired and also helps you to give back to yourself. We are given time daily. We choose what we do with those hours daily.Use your time wisely.
Figure Out How You Work
This may seem easy, but figuring out how you work is so crucial! Do you work better in the morning or are you more productive in the night? Are you a silent worker or do you like music playing? Personally, I work best early in the morning and late at night. I love to put on instrumentals as I am working. One of my favorite Spotify playlist is called Chill Lofi Study Beats. I can literally work for hours at my desk listening to instrumentals. I think knowing how you work will allow you to be more productive!
Research Constantly
Being a blogger, yes you have to be YOU! Your individuality is what will make people relate to you, however what topics are currently trending relevant to your brand/blog? What products are coming out? I love researching because it keeps me extremely inspired and motivated to create content. Always do your research.
Accountability Buddies
I believe that you have friends for different reasons. You must make blogger friends that are like minded. There will be those times when you just feel like giving up. You’re doubting yourself and next thing you know no content for weeks! These friends come into play like no other. You need people that blog who are willing to encourage you in your blogging journey.
Remind yourself of your WHY
Always remember why you started and how far you’ve came. To most believers, that may seem pretty vain, but it’s nice to see your development and growth in the process. How God moved you from one place to the next. It’s beautiful. When you remember why you started and who you are doing it for, it helps to put a fire under your butt!
Remember, you don’t get anywhere by only working when you feel like it!
Keep fighting daily.
Love y’all!
